Baisakhi Blues
I am a stranger here
Where drums are silent
Before the Spring’s arrival
Drooping flowers scattered
On dull dry grass
Air clings to the branches
Lurches past trees
I am a stranger here
Where long years ago
Amidst blushing meadows
Giggles escaped our nervous lips
We danced away wantonly
Leaped to grab the moon
I am a stranger here
Where love had sprouted
Frisky raindrops flamed our dreams
To be together forever
You said love is eternal
My love died and turned me
Into a stranger here
